Just one year ago a little website called Movie Tack.net launched with a news article announcing none other than Peter Jackson as the executive producer of a little videogame adaptation known as Halo. For a year now speculation has ran rampant over who would helm the picture. Originally in the running was one of the friendliest directors working today, Guillermo del Toro. Sadly he is off doing Hell Boy 2 (SWEET!) so a replacement had to be found. His name is Neill Blomkamp.

Never heard of him? Me neither, at least until I was pointed in the direction of one of Blokamp's short films. Looks pretty sweet, let's hope he can handle the pressure of carrying a franchise of this magnitude....
